A couple years ago I was surfing at the Venice Breakwater. My buddy Drew and I were coming in and out of the water for sunbathing sessions. For the last sesh, we headed out just at sunset. That's when the stingray struck. Drew's foot was impaled by a pencil-sized ray about 3 inches into his foot. The Lifeguards immediately attended to his bloody foot, soaking it in a bucket as his wailed in pain. We went to the ER, but that was pretty unnecessary. We were just young kids, so it was more fear than an actual emergency.
Conclusion: I will never forget to do the stingray shuffle.
